High Rise by Psyxis High Rise by Psyxis
Nothing much to say about this one. Making a sunrise to kill time and it turned out kinda well.
It was an opportunity to practise creating nebulaes with fractals. :p

Done in GIMP and Apophysis
All resources were from my own stock.

Hope you enjoy it! :)
Every feedback are appreciate. :D

EDIT: Remove some comets and jagged edges. Thanks :iconcosmicbound: twice for help.

Creating nebulas with fractals is very fun, but tricky as well! But I see you did a very good job here! :)

Hey, the edges look good now :D I feel like the comet going to the right at top right throws it off though -- I would make it turn in a similar direction as the other comets. I see what you tried to do - make it have a shape like the foreground planet - but that makes it too symmetrical, I think.

Hey, thanks again. This jagged edges problem has got on my nerves but I think I've found a way to get rid of this . Just have to master it now :D.
I fixed that comet. Turned it more vertically :)

Awesome, it definitely looks better to me now. :D If you want to keep going with this one, I'd suggest adding more form/texture/contrast to the background nebulae. It's looking very smooth and flat overall like a marble surface.

I've tried to fix that background but the result wasn't better :(. I think I might play around with the nebulae a little bit more and see where I get.
Thank you very much for taking your time. :)

Interesting choice of elements which is good. Some really good subtlety developing in the nebulae too. Too many spaceships/comets and I can see some GIMP jagged edges again.

Thank you for this review. I thought I was completly wrong with this nebulae. Only my opinion was wrong so. Glad to see it's not as bad as I thought.  I removed a few comets and I tried to fix these GIMP jagged edges by reshaping, hiding them...  Still they remain a bit visible. I also kept the original size this time to limit jagged edges. I think it's all I can do for now. Sweating a little...

If anything the nebulae could be improved by giving it more contrast. It fades out very slowly far from the light source in all directions as well, which makes it appear flat in the composition. What I do like is the subtle texture, the colour and the light rays. I don't like the beam flare because it looks too solid in there, although it's important for the composition. Also the mid-planet/moon just above the foreground seems is a different colour from everything else. I can see the potential though!
